REGISTERED APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM

Following a successful two-year pilot program dedicated to exploring and researching work-based learning opportunities, the Youth Workforce Development Foundation proudly launched our Registered Apprenticeship Program in May. This initiative, backed by our proven model, not only enhances college and career readiness but also generates employment prospects, tackles equity issues in underserved communities, and strengthens partnerships among the workforce system, education, and businesses.

As a certified U.S. Department of Labor Apprenticeship Intermediary, the Youth Workforce Dev
elopment Foundation plays a pivotal role in facilitating the Registered Apprenticeship Program (RAP). We connect employers and schools, validate training, create apprenticeship opportunities, and provide comprehensive support to apprentices throughout the program, ensuring a seamless journey from start to finish.

This exciting opportunity enables us to offer apprenticeships in high-growth industries to eligible students, with a primary focus on high school juniors and seniors, as well as first-year college students. By doing so, we contribute significantly to workforce development and economic growth.

Our apprentices, engaged in authentic work-based learning, undergo related technical instruction training in classrooms and receive on-the-job training at worksites under the guidance of industry experts. They are duly compensated for their on-the-job work time. Successful graduates of the program earn prestigious credentials, including the nationally recognized U.S. Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship Credential, the SkillsUSA Career Essentials (career-ready) Credential, an industry-recognized employability skill development credential, and various industry-specific credentials and certifications.

In essence, this program embodies our mission of "fostering the future generation of the American workforce by establishing sustainable youth talent pipelines that bridge the gap between education and industry." Join us in shaping a brighter future for aspiring professionals and contributing to the growth of our nation's workforce.
